Job Description:

  • To perform chartering duties (as directed) to maximize the revenue returns on the company’s assets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Undertake duties regarding to the chartering in or chartering out of oil tankers
  • Prepare related Calculations, justifications and market analysis in order to meet requirements for ship utilization in line with standards and requirements.
  • Undertake negotiation phase of the terms of charter in order to ensure commercially favorable and terms and conditions meet requirements.
  • Prepare reports and document and file relevant market information and ensure that required information is made available on a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain data base and contact details of internal and external parties. Receive and advise information as instructed for smooth flow of chartering activities.

Job Requirements:

  • Plan and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Share experience across commercial team to increase overall knowledge and deliver the respective section objectives on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
  • Provide input for preparation of the Section / Department budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Voyage reconciliations and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control
  • Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s
  • Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.
    Performance Management
  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Section / Department in line with the Company Performance framework.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Review and test new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with ISO standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.
  • Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
  • Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices, and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Qualification & Experience:

  • University degree in a commercial discipline or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills ‘5-15 years relevant tanker experience (CPP and crude) with ship-owner, oil trader, refiner or ship broker
  • Professional Certifications
  • Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (preferred).
  • Knowledge of Commercial Terms (both time and voyage charter) including various CP Clauses.
  • Strong grasp of Voyage estimating Numbers/Analysis.
  • Good Network with Owners / Charters / Brokers.
  • Understanding of shipping legal principals.
  • Ability to analyse and present relevant market Information.
